June 24th

Don’t forget the second hand uniform sale will take place on Monday June 24th from 9.30 am. Please donate any uniforms you have that are in good condition for the sale. Drop in and have a cup of tea while you pick up some very affordable uniform pieces.

Finally I would like to wish you all a very happy and safe summer.
We wish our 6th class pupils the very best as they embark on secondary school and we look forward to welcoming our new infants on the 29th August.
Enjoy the holidays!

Big Breakfasts

We had two Big Breakfasts recently where the parents of children in junior and senior infants were waited on and enjoyed a delicious selection of pastries, scones, juice tea and coffee. A most enjoyable morning was had by all.

Time To Read

Time to Read:
Children from 2nd class participated in the Time To Read programme run under the direction of the team from ‘Business in the Community’. The programme began last October and ran right through until March. Staff from TENEO PSG visited our school weekly and read countless books with the participating children. A new love and interest in books was ignited in these children as a result and big improvements in reading were seen by all. The highlight of the whole experience was the visit by the children to the corporate offices of Teneo PSG in Stillorgan where they got to experience what a day in the life of a business executive is like.

Fill the Van

We had two very successful ‘Fill the Van’ Days here in the Good Shepherd where hundreds of Euro was raised for the school. There’ll be more Fill the Van Days next term so keep that in mind as you clean out your closets over the summer holidays!!

Children from 4th and 5th classes enjoyed a wonderful morning of cookery as part of Healthy Living Week hosted by two of our dedicated parents. A special word of thanks to Natalia and Adriana for giving up their time to demonstrate and work with the classes. Together they made some International cuisine with a healthy twist!

Grandparents Day

Grandparents Day:
What fun we had on Grandparents Day! It was so lovely to meet all the grandparents who turned up on the day to share their experiences with
the children of Good Shepherd. A most enjoyable cup of tea and chat was had after the classroom visits – a trip down memory lane for many of our grandparents.

Coffee Morning

It’s been a hectic year once again in the HSCL department.

Our monthly coffee mornings have been a huge success and well attended by all. It’s a great opportunity to catch up with fellow parents and new faces are always welcome. I look forward to meeting more new parents along with old friends next term. Our final coffee morning of the year will take place on Monday June 24th. Hope to see you there!
