Welcome Back!

Welcome back to school everyone! We have had a busy couple of weeks in the Senior Language Class so far. We have really enjoyed welcoming 4 new members to our class this September. We have been busy doing lots of art to put display for our parents during their classroom visit. Check out some of our work!

School Tour!

We had great fun with Ms. Horgan’s class at Go Kids Go! in Blanchardstown on our school tour. We had lots of fun in the soft play areas, playing football, dancing in the disco room and making clay characters. Here are some pictures of our day…

Springtime Planting

This spring we planted grass to make our “grass-head” characters. We filled stockings with cotton wool and grass seed. We put them in the sunlight and gave them lots of water. When the grass sprouted we decorated pots to give each one a unique outfit! They are going home this week as some are need of a hair cut ūüôā

Pancake Tuesday!

Happy Pancake Tuesday from all of us in the Language Class! We had a great time making pancakes and choosing our toppings. We hope you enjoy the mid-term break!

Bake Sale Fundraiser

We had a bake sale to raise funds for our school last week. The children in the Senior Language Class made a chocolate biscuit cake to contribute on the day as well as lots of generous contributions from home. We had great fun learning how to write & follow a recipe and even more fun melting all the chocolate! We hope you enjoyed our cake.

Intercultural Day!

We had a fantastic time celebrating Intercultural Day. The children worked really hard to prepare projects on Zimbabwe and France and all their hard work was rewarded on the day with a huge feast! We tasted all kinds of foods & delicious desserts from many different countries.

Papier-maché Planets

The children worked extremely hard throughout January researching and learning all about the solar system. They completed beautiful projects and created a papier-maché solar system display for our classroom. Great team work by all!

Merry Christmas!

Wishing everyone a¬† Merry Christmas from The Senior Language class! We did a Kris Kindle gift exchange this year. The children made gorgeous cards for their partner and got some really thoughtful gifts too. A little taste of what’s to come on Christmas morning…

December Fun!

What a month it’s been in the Senior Language Class! We kicked off the month with a trip to the Moving Crib and to see the Christmas windows at Arnotts on Henry Street. We decorated our classroom for Christmas and we helped Ms. Harding decorate her Christmas tree. We had a visit from the Dublin football team and the Sam Maguire Cup. The Garda Band came to school on Christmas week and we had a whole school sing- a-long too. Here’s some pictures of all the fun we’ve been having…

November update!

We were very busy this November in the Senior Language Class. There were lots of exciting activities during science week including our trip to the Dun Laoghaire Lexicon for the “Science of Bubbles” and a talk from Astronomy Ireland. We also learned about Vincent Van Gogh during November and did our own “Starry Night” pictures.
