Halloween is coming!

We are now into the month of October and we have started our Halloween preparations! This week we created sugar skulls or ‘Calavera’ as they are also known.  Sugar skulls are associated with the famous Mexican holiday ‘The Day of The Dead’ or ‘Dia de los Muertos’.  During this traditional holiday families come together to celebrate and remember their ancestors and loved ones who have passed away.  They create colourful sugar skulls from icing as a special treat for the day.  Many of the class were familiar with sugar skulls from the Disney movie’Coco’.  We had great fun creating this colourful artwork.
