March in Junior Infants…

Welcome back to our class blog!

We’ve had an exciting month learning more about spring, celebrating St. Patrick’s Day and now we are looking forward to Easter coming.

Here’s a quick update on our journey through Junior Infants:

One of our role-play themes was the ‘Opticians’. This was a fun way to revise our sounds and tricky words. We tested each other as if it were an eye chart test and we were able to help each other out if we got stuck.

We also designed and assembled a pair of glasses..

World Book Day was on the 7th of March so we thought it would be nice if some of the third class children came down to our classroom to read books with us.

This is our ‘Buddy Reading’ in action..

We’ve moved onto vowel digraphs in our phonics learning so we are looking out for those sounds and spellings especially.

Recently, we have turned our role-play corner into a film studio which allows us to create our own short sketches in our groups. We’re also acting out our favourite fairy tales.

We’re having so much fun performing our little films.

Art Work:

We couldn’t celebrate St. Patrick’s Day without some rainbow art…

Spring brings new life like these baby chicks we made.

Don’t forget to visit our page again soon to see how we are preparing for Easter in our classroom.
