Health Week 2019: Cooking Demonstration!

Children from Fourth and Fifth Class were very lucky to attend a cookery demonstration today as part of our school-run Health Week 2019! The children were given the opportunity to sample lots of healthy food and even got to create their own dishes and snacks. They created a chicken salad wrap, a vegetarian pasta dish and a carrot cupcakes. Thank you so much to our demonstrators, the children thoroughly enjoyed the morning!

Looking Back at 2018: Some More Highlights!

Here are some further pictures of our highlights from 2018!

We completed lots of Christmas Art during the month of December. We used the method of papier maché to create our Rudolfs. We also used crepe paper to create beautiful cards to give to our friends and family!

We thoroughly enjoyed our activities during Science Week 2018. We even got to learn about astrology in a planetarium!

We had a visit from a Dublin GAA official and he showed us the actual Sam Maguire! We asked lots of questions and got some interesting answers!

We have been enjoying our time in Homework Club on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday afternoons!

We were so lucky to have lots of help during busy times of the year, and Lauren helped us so much with our learning when she was with our class! Thanks so much Lauren!

Well done Fifth Class, keep up the amazing work!

Looking Back at 2018: Some Highlights!

As we eagerly begin our new term in Fifth Class in The Good Shepherd National School we look back at some of the memories we have from 2018!

As a school we took part in Science Week 2018 and we were very lucky to be introduced to some beautiful and interesting birds. Some of us even got to hold them!

We were working very hard all year in Fifth Class and we completed some project work based on the countries of Europe. We presented out projects to the class and the rest of the school!

We also worked very hard in Maths, and we completed some fun lessons on 2D shapes. We learned that there is a lot of tricky terminology in relation to 2D shapes but we worked super hard to get a grasp of it! We were tasked with making models of 2D shapes and also to use tangrams to create scenes from our environment!

Well done Fifth Class!
